William A. Lacey

Mr. William A Lacey,101, of Portsmouth died January 25th at Webster at Rye Nursing Home.He was born March 1, 1913 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Frank Harry Lacey & Irene Alexis Dunn and he served in the US Navy 1943-1946. After retiring from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1969, Bill & his wife traveled extensively, spending 30 winters in Arizona. Bill was an avid craftsman who enjoyed woodworking and stained glass. He was also a member of Gorham-Sabattis Lodge #73 F & AM in Gorham, NH. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and was predeceased in 2011 by his wife of 72 years ,Claris Lacey, as well as 4 siblings. Graveside Services will be held in the spring at the Evans Cemetery in Shelburne, NH. The Bryant Funeral Home in Gorham is in charge of the arrangements.
