Obituary

Wesley Franklin Grondin, known affectionately as Buddy, Buddy Bones, Bomber, and Uncle Jugs, 41, of Berlin, New Hampshire, passed away on July 4, 2026. Born on January 27, 1985, at AVH, Wesley was a lifelong resident of the Berlin/Gorham area. He grew up working in the woods alongside his father, Rick, and dedicated his entire life to the forestry industry. He started with hands-on work in the forests as a boy and later became a skilled crane operator at Milan Lumber Company. His strong work ethic and expertise earned him the respect of all his colleagues.

He is survived by his five children: Gage, Todd, Toby, Claira, and Emily; his two grandchildren: Aiden and Estella; his mother, Martha Seibel and her husband, Robert Seibel; his father, Richard N. Grondin; his siblings, Melinda and her husband, Jeremy Beaulieu, Stephanie Grondin, John Grondin and his partner, Chelsea Begin, and Keagan Grondin; his grandfather, Normand Grondin; his aunts: Carol Porto, Sue Brown and her husband, Bob Brown; and many cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Franklin and Irene Judson; his aunt, Debbie Judson; his paternal grandmother, Violette Grondin; his stepfather, Darren Levesque; and his uncle, Carmen Porto. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Haley, Ashlynne, Brenna, Mene, Jace, and Eve.

Wesley will be greatly missed by his many friends, especially Ryan Dube and Ray Willey, who were like brothers to him. Wesley was a man of many great times and laughs. He deeply loved his family and friends, cherished the outdoors, and found joy in its simplicity. Always ready for an adventure—whether his own or someone else’s—he was a pleasure to be around. Through ups and downs, Wes had a gift for bringing light to evry situation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 24th at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Anne’s Church in Berlin, New Hampshire. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at Heritage Park in Berlin, New Hampshire. Family and friends are invited to come share stories, laughter, and celebrate Wesley’s love for nature. The gathering will be potluck style with some food provided by the family — please feel free to bring a dish to share. Please BYOB. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wesley’s memory may be made directly to the family to help with final costs and support his children.

Buddy Bones, the dedicated woodsman and adventurer, will be deeply missed. His laughter, love of the outdoors, and ability to brighten any situation will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Forever in our hearts.
