Sylvio R. Lapierre

December 12, 1940 — July 20, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our dear friend, Sylvio Remi Lapierre, (82) on July 20, 2023. Sylvio was born December 12, 1940 to Leonardo Lapiere and Imelda Faucer in Saint Luc, Quebec County, Dorchester Canada. He was one of 13 children and is survived by his wife Carla Lapierre, his son Gary Lapierre of Vermont and his sister Dolores Ferland. Sylvio will be remembered for his incredible work ethic. At the tender age of 12,he began his logging career on the farm with his twin brother Henrio and his father. At 15, he started working in the woods of Quebec and Ontario. For a brief time, he set aside his love for the woods and worked in the Waumbeck Mill in Manchester, NH. However, the woods were calling, and he soon returned. His quest to draw close to his Creator started by studying the Bible. He came to appreciate God‘s original purpose to make this earth a paradise by means of God‘s Kingdom. This brought him much joy and satisfaction in life. Sylvio faithfully attended the Gorham Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he served for a time as a ministerial servant supporting the congregation. It was here that he received a further blessing when he met the love of his life Carla Broman and they shared 21 1/2 years together. Their deep love for each other was inspiring to all who knew them. Sylvio enjoyed a friendly game of cribbage as well as many different woodworking projects. Many friends still enjoy the gifts of bird, squirrel and bat houses for their yards. He will forever be remembered for his dry sense of humor and his quick wit with a twinkle in his eye. Sylvio came to appreciate the meaning of Philippians chapter 4 verses 6 and 7 “do not be anxious over anything but trust in Jehovah God to guard your heart and mental powers”.

A memorial talk will be given on Saturday, August 12 at 3 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 271 Gorham Hill Rd., Gorham New Hampshire.
