Russell R. Doucette, 73, of Milan, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin after a period of failing health. He was born in Berlin on May 20, 1950 the son of the late Raymond and Germaine Doucette, residing in Milan all of his life. He attended Berlin High School Class of 1968 and enlisted in the National Guard where he served for 6 years. For the majority of his life he worked at Ray's Gun Shop, where he worked as a clerk, gun smith, among may other job titles. Over the years Russ was involved in numerous community roles in Milan including serving as Assistant Police Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Fire Warden (of 3 districts) where he would also utilize his plane for fire watching for the State of New Hampshire. He loved flying and was a member of the White Mountain Fliers Association. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle throughout Northern New England. He devoted a lot of time in his younger years hunting and fishing. He could often be found tinkering around their property, troubleshooting car issues as well as creating accessories for his tractor.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Denise L. Doucette of Milan; a son David Doucette of Milan; sister-in-law Michelle Morin and her husband Mike; two nieces Mallory Carrigan and her husband Tyler and Megan Morin and her companion Seth; many cousins and numerous friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will take place at St. Kieran Cemetery privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Russell's memory may be to the Parkinson's Foundation - New England Chapter, online at www.parkinson.org/newengland.
