BERLIN — Rosemarie “Marie” Ursula Matthews, 62, passed away on August 21st, 2026, at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital.

Marie was born on July 17, 1964, in Fort Benning, Georgia, the daughter of Rodman and Margaret (Dermile) Matthews. She grew up and spent her childhood in North Carolina before moving to Florida in 1979, where she resided until 2003. She later made her home in Berlin, New Hampshire.

Marie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and arts and crafts. She also loved spending time downtown shopping and browsing the stores, always excited to see what she might find. She took great joy in adding to her collection and especially loved discovering new seasonal and holiday items. Snoopy was a particular favorite, and anything featuring Snoopy was sure to catch her eye.

Marie was a genuinely curious person who enjoyed learning about the world around her and connecting with others. She found happiness in simple things and approached the things she loved with genuine enthusiasm. She will be remembered fondly by the many people who came to know and care for her, and she was deeply loved by those whose lives she touched.

In accordance with Marie’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
