Ronald L. Gilbert

Mr. Ronald L. Gilbert, 86, of 565 Third Ave., Berlin, NH passed away on Monday November 16, 2009 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Berlin, NH on June 20, 1923 the son of Alfred and Nellie (Larocque) Gilbert and was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Berlin High in 1942 and served in the US Army. He had been employed as a manager at the First National Stores and was a radio announcer for the Sunday afternoon Jazz program on WMOU for many years. Members of the family include his wife Mary (Lapato) Gilbert of Berlin, NH; six grandchildren Joti Hahn, Asha Singer, Chanda Zavodny, Mary Nolin, Cayla Nolin and Caitlyn Nolin; great-grandchildren Mikhayla Singer, Gavin Singer, Chloe Hahn and Joseph Hahn and a brother Paul Gilbert and his wife Mary of Florida. He was predeceased by a daughter Diane Gilbert Nolin A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday November 18, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the New City Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Wednesday morning from 9 to 10:30 AM, prior to the service.
