Roland E. Desilets, 92, of Berlin, passed away on Thursday June 15, 2023 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Berlin on January 5, 1931 the son of the late Edward and Isola (Rheaume) Desilets and graduated from Berlin High School with the Class of1950 and then he went to work for Brown Company. He proudly served his country as a US Marine from 1950-1954 and is a Veteran of the Korean War. Upon discharge from the Marines, Roland went back to work for Brown Company had been employed in Quality Control at Cascade, retiring from James River Corp after 42 ½ years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, was a Life Member of the VFW Post #2520 in Berlin and was a member of the American Legion Post #0017 in Groveton. Roland enjoyed spending time with his son, Edward, and his grandson, John, hunting, fishing and watching the Red Sox, the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins.
Family includes his daughter-in-law Linda (Pepin) Desilets of Nashua, NH; his granddaughter Laura Bruno and husband Arthur of Boxford, MA; his grandson John Desilets and wife Kelli of Bridgewater, MA; great grandchildren Beorn, Rowan and Aria Bruno and Rylie Desilets; step-daughters Joyce Bolden and husband Dennis of Lisbon Falls, ME and Jean Howard and husband Ed of Sterling, MA and a dear friend and loyal companion, Debbie Lou Lakin of Berlin, NH. He was predeceased by his son Edward Desilets in 2013.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday June 27, 2023 at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. There will be no calling hours. The Bryant & Fleury-Patry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online guestbook at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
