Roland Brault Jr, age 73, of Claremont, NH passed away on Saturday, June 17th, 2023 at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Berlin, NH on July 27th, 1949 and grew up in Gorham, NH. He was the son of the late Roland Brault Sr and late Irene (Griffin) Brault.
Roland married the love of his life, Suzanne Lampron Brault on April 27th, 1974 in Manchester NH. They lived in Goffstown, NH where they started their family. Roland worked for Ryder Truck Rental as a Service Manager for over 20 years.
He proudly served in the United State Marine Corp from 1968-1972. He was a Vietnam Veteran. His devotion for his country was not without sacrifice with his lifelong fight with his worst enemy, Agent Orange, which never let him forget.
He was proud of his service and he always acknowledged all military, active and veterans by thanked them for their service.
He was 100% devoted to his family and his faith in God. He was truly loved and respected by all who were lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, of 49 years and his two sons, Roland Brault III, of Acworth, NH. Paul Brault of Berlin, NH and grandson, Isaac Brault of Acworth, NH. Also, his loving and very loyal Service Dog, Gene. His sisters, Laura Connelly of New Mexico, Irene Haycook of Missouri and Claudette Breault of Washington state. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, father, his sister, Paulette Turmel of Berlin, NH, his brother, Roger Brault (Who was also a veteran and served in the Navy and was in Vietnam, off shore, at the same time as Roland.
Roland absolutely loved the great outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, evenings by the campfire and all that nature had to offer him. He was never idle. Always doing something. He was a great craftsman and was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything and make anything he wanted. Even after he went blind, he didn’t stop. He completed a homemade picnic table about 2 weeks before he passed! The loss of his eye sight never stopped him. Roland will be sadly missed by all who knew him. -SEMPER FI-
Funeral Services will be on Friday June 23rd at 1 pm at the St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin, NH. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 22nd from 5 to 7 pm at Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave. Berlin, NH. Interment will be at a later date at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH with full Military Honors. Guest book is available to sign at the funeral home website, bryantfuneralhome.net. Donations in his memory may be made to the Sotheastern Guidedogs, Palmentto, Florida in his name.
