Robert (Coutch) Couture, 70, passed away peacefully at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital on Thursday, August 21, 2014. He had been a resident at St Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Berlin.

Born on June 19, 1944, in Berlin, NH he was the son of the late Leopold and Cecile (Huot) Couture.

He was a graduate of Notre Dame High school and played as a defenseman for the hockey team.

After 34 years of service he retired from Pulp and Paper of America in 2001. Prior to that, he was employed at Blanchette's Market. He truly enjoyed his grandchildren, playing cribbage, horseshoes and woodworking. He recently celebrated his 70th birthday at Oxford Casino with family and friends.

Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by two sisters, Carol Cone and infant Lorraine Couture.

He leaves behind Lucille Couture; three daughters Linda Sjostrom and husband Kris of Shelburne NH; Lori Hamel and companion Vinny Pino of Berlin, NH and Lisa Vien and husband Steve of Berlin, NH. Eight grandchildren; Karin, Josh, Sam, Max, Courtney and companion Tyler, Nick, Justin and Jessica. One great-grandchild Miles. One brother Richard (Champ) Couture and wife Olive of Berlin; One sister Anita Perreault and husband Richard of Gorham, NH. Several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, August 25, 2014 at St Anne Church of Good Shepard Parish in Berlin. Calling hours will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
