Robert worked for Woolworth's in Berlin for many years and, upon the store's closing, transitioned to Rite Aid, where he was the front-end manager. He enjoyed woodworking, making and refinishing beautiful furniture. He loved birds and tending to his bird feeders, and he was a talented gardener, dedicating a lot of time to growing vegetables and improving his garden year after year. Robert was an active communicant of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He served on the church council, as well as doing small maintenance tasks and decorating for each season.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Nancy Bangs of Berlin; two daughters Jennifer Bangs of Slatersville, RI and Linda Guebert and her husband Michael of Corbett, OR; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Bangs.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 1pm at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 101 Norway Street, Berlin, NH 03570. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
