Richard K. MacDonald

Richard K MacDonald, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. Born on April 29, 1941 at his family home in Spencer, MA, Richard was the son of the late John and Evelyn “Norma” MacDonald. He spent his childhood on the family farm in Spencer, where he developed a lifelong love for hard work and the outdoors. In April 1961, Richard married his high school sweetheart, Gloria. Together, they raised four children in Westborough, MA, before relocating to Milan, NH in 1987. Richard worked for the Berlin School System as a bus mechanic and driver until his retirement in 2006. Richard enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, working in his garage, and most of all, spending quality time with his family and friends.

Richard is survived by his children Richard MacDonald Jr. and wife Emily of Berlin, NH, Brenda Hutker and husband Tim of Melbourne, FL; Bryan MacDonald of Milan, NH, and Gayle Secinore and husband Jim of Berlin, NH; grandchildren Alyssa, Jeffrey, Timothy, Andrew, Leeann, Michael, and John; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother Jack MacDonald of Paulding, OH, and his sister Sharlene Briggs of Fort Mills, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law Ernie and Linda Richard of Westborough, MA, and Frank Mosher of Brookfield, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his wife, Gloria MacDonald, brother Edward MacDonald, and sister Marilyn Mosher.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
