Richard G. Mcneil

Richard G. McNeil, 76, went into the arms of the Lord on May 28, 2022 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. Richard was the son of Blanche (Lacroix) Lafond and Napoleon McNeil, born on September 27, 1945 in Lewiston, Maine. Richard was a lifelong resident of Berlin, NH. He enjoyed racing, fishing, cooking, and hockey, especially his favorite team, the Boston Bruins. He was often found spending summers in Old Orchard Beach, which he loved. Richard very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandsons, they were his pride and joy. He would often talk about many fishing trips with his fishing buddies, Gail Libby, Linda Whitlock, and Donna Fowler. Richard was employed at White Mountain Lumber for many years, working in the palette room. He married the love of his life, Susan, on January 17, 1970 in which they shared many laughs and cries together in their 48 years of marriage.



Richard is survived by his daughter, Michelle (McNeil) Delafontaine and husband Raymond of Berlin, NH; granddaughter Kayla MacArthur and husband Andrew of Berlin, and grandson Kyle Delafontaine; two great-grandsons Braecyn Delafontaine and Alexander MacArthur; sister Evelyn Guay of West Palm Beach, FL; brother Henry McNeil of Berlin; sister-in-law Lorna Roy of Berlin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Susan (Arsenault) McNeil; son Gary Richard McNeil; sister Annette Perry; his parents Blanche and Napoleon; stepfather Oliver Lafond; and his father and mother-in-law, Delphis and Lorraine Arsenault.



A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 10AM at the New City Cemetery in Berlin, NH. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.bryantfuneralhome.net
