Richard A. Duchesne

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard A. Duchesne on February 24, 2025, at Androscoggin Valley Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83 years old.

Richard was born on April 7, 1941, in Berlin, NH, and was the beloved husband of Verna Duchesne for 62 years. He leaves behind his daughter Deb Foss and her husband Gene, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Kristi O’Shea (Kevin), Kimberly Pelchat (Bob Delotto), Adam Foss (Therese), and Justin Foss (Shalai). He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Baden, Kennedy, Cece, Ashton, Lucy, Noah, Max, Lily, Remi, and Gus, all of whom brought him great joy.

 Richard is also survived by his brother, Ronald “Duke” Duchesne, his sister-in-law, Linda Nadeau, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Germaine Duchesne, and his sister, Lorraine Duchesne.

 Richard began his career by owning Dick’s Filling Station before transitioning to work as a millwright, where he dedicated 35 years before retiring. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year for his dedication to his community.

 A proud and active member of his community, Richard loved to fish, play horseshoes, pool, cards, and darts at the senior center. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was known for his witty humor, amazing smile, and competitive spirit. His luck was legendary, and he touched the lives of many with his warmth and charm.

 Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH on Friday, February 28th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the funeral service directly following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard’s memory to the Senior Center of Berlin.
