Rene A. "Bo" Lafrancois

February 11, 1953 — April 29, 2025

Berlin, NH

Rene “Bo” Lafrancois passed away at his home early on Tuesday April 29, 2025, following a battle with pancreatic cancer, with his family in his presence. The son of the late Rene and Elda (Nicoletti) Lafrancois, Bo was born in Berlin on February 11, 1953. He attended local schools, including St. Pat’s and Berlin High School, where he was a graduate in the Class of 1971. He attended Stonehill College, earning his Accounting degree in 1975. After college, Bo returned to Berlin, where he met his wife Louise while tending bar at Fagin’s Pub. Bo spent his years raising his children and helping coach their sports teams, playing Men’s League softball, basketball with his buddies, and cross-country skiing the Nansen Trails. Bo loved music, and he and Louise were avid concert goers. Any concert was fair game, from local bands on Gorham Common and at Tuckerman’s Brewery, to the Eagles at the Boston Garden, and Gloria Estefan in Aruba. Music was always on at home, and during the summer months, the neighbors received healthy doses of tunes that Bo blasted on his stereo. Bo spent his career as a Warehouse Manager for Isaacson Steel and Presby Steel, where he worked for over 40 years. Bo had a side hustle before it was cool, serving the North Country’s tax needs as the proprietor of Bo’s Income Tax Service. He was passionate about assisting others with their taxes. Bo was a proud father of his two children and celebrated their professional successes: his daughter, a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and college professor; and his son, a Doctor of Pharmacy and retail pharmacist. Bo was a lifelong member of St. Kieran and Good Shephard Parishes.

Bo is survived by his wife of 47 years, Louise (Riendeau) Lafrancois of Berlin; his daughter Becky Lafrancois of Golden, CO; his son Danny, husband Brandon, and granddog Basil Lafrancois of Manchester, NH; his sister, Judy Roy and husband Frank, of Exeter, NH; his mother-in-law Theresa Riendeau, of Berlin; nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and a crew of cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 9 at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH on Thursday, May 8 from 6 to 8 PM.
