Raymond P. Pelkey

Raymond P. Pelkey, 72, of Berlin, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin after a period of failing health. He was born in Berlin, NH on February 20, 1951 the son of the late Lawrence and Sarah (Harris) Pelkey. Raymond resided in the Androscoggin Valley all of his life and attended Gorham schools. Raymond worked for a variety of local business before starting his career at Brown Company where he worked for 36 years on the paper machines. Raymond loved music, Elvis being one of his favorite artists. In the summer months, the family would rent a cabin at Nay Pond. Raymond enjoyed collecting a variety of items, and had a knack for collecting the less common and some valuable items. He was avid fan of many of the pop-culture films and series, including Star Wars and Star Trek among others. Raymond had a strong work ethic and was a very reliable employee to all those he worked for and in turn was an excellent provider for his family.

Family includes his wife Debbie (Sheets) Pelkey of Berlin; three sons: Norman J. Pelkey of Mesa, AZ, David Pelkey and wife Stacey of Gorham and Adam Pelkey and fiancé Jannet Provencher of Berlin; grandchildren: Landyn, Alexa, Avree, Ezekiel and anticipating the arrival of a new grandson Eli very soon; brothers: Newton, Jim, Ralph, Butch and Steve; and his sister Linda Duchesne. He was predeceased by a son Andy, and brothers Richard, Harold and Lawrence.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11am at the Bryant & Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH with interment following at Russian City Cemetery, Berlin.
