Mrs. Rachel L. Delisle, 87, of Berlin NH, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at her home. She was born in Berlin, NH on August 16, 1938 the daughter of the late Joseph and Yvonne (LIHeureux) Gilbert and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Notre Dame High School, class of 1956.

Rachel was a former active member at Angel Guardian Parish, and served at different times as Secretary, Treasure and President of the Ladies of St. Anne. She was a member of the “Friends of Catholic Schools”. She served at Angel Guardian Parish and Good Shepherd Parish as Eucharistic Minister for 30 years, ministering to residents of Coos County Nursing Home. She was active with the church decorating committee, the Altar Guild and the Marie Rivier Associates.

Rachel worked at the House of Style on the Berlin Gorham Rd. for 17 years. After that, she was employed at LaVerdiere, Rite Aid and finally Brooks pharmacy for 17 years. Rachel enjoyed volunteering at the Marie Rivier Food Pantry, the Lazarus Meals, Good Shepherd Parish Gift Shop.

After retirement Rachel and Bob enjoyed traveling to many states and Canada. They took two memorable trips, one to Hawaii and a long drive to Alaska. Rachel enjoyed baking special treat for get-togethers, love to knit, do crafts and loved to read. School functions and sporting events of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always a must to attend.

Rachel was predeceased by her husband Bob, her parents, her brother Conrad Gilbert of Burlington Vt. She is survived by her children, Denis Delisle and his wife Rachel of Gorham NH, Diane Desgroseilliers and husband Paul of Manchester NH, Maurice “Moe” Delisle and wife Carol of Concord NH. Seven grandchildren, Andrea Pearl of Gorham NH, Nicole Desgroseilliers of Manchester NH, Stephanie Delisle and wife Kelly of Center Conway NH, Natalie Glynn and husband Daniel of Boulder City NV, Nathaniel Delisle and wife Lynn of Gorham NH, Chantal Delisle of Concord NH, and Cameron Delisle of Concord NH. Four great-granddaughters, Taylor Desgroseilliers of Manchester NH, Josephine Pearl of Gorham NH, Addison Delisle of Concord NH and Rita Delisle of Gorham, NH as well as her sister-in-law Cecile "Sue" Gilbert of Burlington VT and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Tina Delisle of Berlin NH and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Princess.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 1 at 1:00pm at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin NH with interment following beside her husband at St. Kieran Cemetery. At Rachel’s request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, she has requested donations be made to the Androscoggin Valley Hospital Memorial Fund, 59 Page Hill Rd., Berlin, NH 03570 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
