BERLIN------ Paul R. Gallant, 77, passed away on Friday, February 20th, 2026 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. Paul was born in Berlin on July 10th, 1948, the son of the late Richard J. and Flore S. (Nolin) Gallant and spent most of his life in Berlin. He served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972 and worked for James River as a waste water operator for over 35 years. After retiring from the mill, he worked part time as a courier for New England Security. Paul was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, attending car shows, and spending time with his family.

Paul was talented and crafty, with a natural ability to fix and build things. He liked staying busy and took pride in working with his hands. He appreciated simple routines and familiar places especially his visits to Dunkin Donuts and Senior Meals, where he enjoyed conversation and friendship.

Above all, Paul loved his family. His son, Steven meant the world to him. They shared a close bond with one another. Paul was thoughtful in the small ways that matter, rarely missing a birthday or special occasion and faithfully sending cards to his granddaughter and others he cared about.

Paul is survived by his son Steve R. Gallant of Berlin, sisters; Martha Croteau and her husband Robert of Berlin, Kathleen and Norman Malloy of Gorham, Roberta Gallant of Boscawen, Jocelyn Gallant of Salem, brother, Mark Gallant and wife Tiara of Fort Worth, Texas, nephews, Nathan Croteau and his wife Nicole, Cory Croteau and his companion Andrea Austin, nieces Jennifer Buteau and her husband Matt, and Carolyn Bryk and her husband Jeff. In addition to his parents Paul was predeceased by his brother, John Gallant, and his lifelong companion Loretta Michaud.
