Michel Daniel Fillion, 60, passed away in his home on Monday, May 17, 2021 after battling many health issues over the past 25 years. He was born in Berlin on September 29, 1960, the son of Gaston and Lucille (Dube) Fillion. He graduated from St. Regis Academy in 1974 and from Berlin High School in 1978. He was in the National Guard Battery A, 2nd Howitzer Battalion, 197th Artillery for four years.
Mike worked for several years in construction before falling ill. A true outdoorsman, or as he referred to himself as “Mountain Man”. He always made time for his children and enjoyed going target practicing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and anything outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking and carved many beautiful pieces. He was often found tinkering in his garage, creating anything he could think of and rebuilding cars.
He leaves behind his daughter Katelyn Fillion of Berlin and friend Dana Brouillette; son Keith Fillion of Aurora, CO; siblings: godmother Jackie Gagne (Pete) of Berlin, godfather Marcel Fillion (Claudette) of Lakeland, FL, Paul Fillion (Helen) of Yulee, FL, Donald Fillion (Suying) of Fernandina, FL, Roland Fillion (Jacqueline) of Hamilton, Ontario, and Denise Soucy (Donald) of Cranston, RI; one aunt Therese Dube Arsenault of Dover, NH; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and cousins scattered around the country, and a special caretaker and friend Tim Moreau. He is predeceased by his parents; and his wives: Joy Martin Fillion in January 1999 and Michelle Gosselin Fillion in April 2017.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Anne Cemetery, Berlin. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bryant & Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, Berlin. Online guestbook at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
