Michael E. Ruel

Michael E. Ruel, 75, of Manchester, passed away on January 9, 2024 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester after a brief illness.  He was born on January 24, 1948 the son of the late Joseph A. and Ruth (Rogers) Ruel.  He grew up and resided in the Shelburne/Gorham area before relocating to Manchester.  Mike drove a truck for many years before retiring in 2014.  In his earlier years, you might have seen him working in the kitchen at his family's restaurant, Ruel's, or perhaps he poured you a drink while bartending at the American Legion in Gorham.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, family and all things sports related.  He may not remember what he ate for breakfast, but he could tell you who coached the Bruins in 1974 or who played in the Super Bowl in 1996.

Mike leaves behind his three stepchildren: Beth Pieberl (husband Walter) of Manchester, Diane Michaud (husband Norman) of Londonderry and Benton Monk (wife Lizz) of Manchester; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife Vickie (Beck) Ruel and his siblings Joseph Ruel and Gregory Ruel.  

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 12-2pm.  Interment will take place in Holy Family Cemetery, Gorham.  Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.  Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
