In Loving Memory of Martha Louise Plummer Turcotte

Martha Louise Plummer Turcotte was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, friend, and caregiver whose life was defined by compassion, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to others. She gave her time, her strength, and her heart freely, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue through the many lives she touched.

Throughout her life, Martha dedicated herself to caring for people. Helping others was more than a career for her—it was who she was. She worked at Verdun Street Home, where she cared for and supported others. She later worked at Northern Human Services, supporting adults with disabilities. Martha also spent many years at Tri-County CAP, working in two different departments. She began at Step One, a crisis center, and later worked at Friendship House, providing alcohol and other drug services.

Every job Martha held reflected her compassion, patience, and genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Caring for people came naturally to her, and she spent her life offering support, kindness, and understanding to those around her.

Family was at the heart of Martha’s life. She was the proud mother of seven children: Linda Lee Allen (deceased); Ronald A. Ferron (deceased); Ronald Louis Ferron and his wife, Jenny Ferron; Wendy Ann Goodrum; Gary William Ferron (deceased); Tina Shirley Edwards and her husband, Timothy Edwards; and Shane Daniel Ferron and his wife, April Ferron.

Martha was also blessed with 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren—a family that was a tremendous source of love and pride for her.

One of Martha’s goals in life was to live long enough to meet one of her great-great-grandchildren. She did more than accomplish that goal—she was blessed to meet all nine of them. This was a special gift and a beautiful reflection of the long life she was fortunate enough to share with her family.

Martha’s friendships were also an important part of her life. The friends she made through her years of work became much more than coworkers; they became family. She was especially close to her work friends and made countless wonderful memories with them. She loved shopping not only with her daughters but also with her best friends from work. She spoke highly of them and treasured those relationships throughout her life.

Martha loved the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed reading, shopping, and doing crossword puzzles. She also loved knitting and spent countless hours creating special gifts for the people she loved. Over the years, she knitted mittens, hats, and, of course, slippers for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Everyone loved Martha’s slippers. Each pair was made with love and became a special reminder of the care she put into her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Clara Plummer; her brother, Robert Plummer; her husband, Richard Turcotte; her children, Linda Lee Allen, Ronald A. Ferron, and Gary William Ferron; and her great-grandson, Cyrus Besche.

Martha will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Martha passed away on October 9, 2026, at her home at 98 Mason Street in Berlin, New Hampshire. Following the service, family and friends will gather at her home for lunch and a celebration of her life. All are welcome. May this gathering honor Martha’s memory and celebrate the beautiful life she shared with all of us.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 16, 2026 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave, Berlin. Online guestbook at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
