Marguerite R. Vachon

December 2, 1949 — July 5, 2023

Marguerite R. Vachon, 73, of Gorham, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Rutland, VT on December 2, 1949 the daughter of Edmond Marceau and Muriel (Roy) Comeau and grew up in Berlin and resided in the area most of her life. She graduated from Notre Dame High School Class of 1968 and entered the work force. For most of her working career, she worked in the mill, having worked in both the towel room and the storehouse. Marguerite loved cooking, baking, knitting, gardening and helping others. She was very generous in all areas of her life, and was always willing to help those who were in need. She was a loving and devoted mother to her two boys.


Family members include her sons Lance Bartashevich of Gorham and Shane Bartashevich of Saugus, MA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her mother Muriel Comeau of Gorham; her siblings: Lise Gilbert and husband Bill of Dallas, GA, Cecile Landry of Berlin, Therese Cote and husband Ron of Berlin, Nina Coulombe and husband Robert of Berlin and Edmond Marceau and his wife Dorothy of Exeter, NH; step-children Lorri Morin of Manchester, NH, Bill Vachon of Rock Hill, SC and Steven Vachon of Bangor, ME. She was predeceased by her husband Roydon Vachon. 


At her request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the North Country Home Health and Hospice Agency, Cottage Street, Littleton, NH 03561 (nchhha.org). Arrangements are entrusted to Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin and Gorham. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
