Obituary

Madeline G. Berry, 101, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, June 27,2026 at Saint Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation Nursing Center. She was born in Gorham, NH on September 5, 1924, and was the daughter of Rufus Chambers and Hazel (London) Chambers.

Madeline was a lifelong resident of Gorham and enjoyed spending time giving back to her community. She enjoyed working with youth at the Gorham Public Library and Recreation Department. She welcomed visitors warmly at the Gorham Information Booth on the Common. She was a member of the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC and a former member of the Gorham Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Madeline was active in the Red Hat Society and Gorham Senior Program where she was able to enjoy spending time with her friends.

Madeline is survived by her son Greogry Berry and wife Dawn of Hopkinton, NH; many nieces, nephews and many friends. She is predeceased by her husband Chester W. Berry; brother Norman Chambers; sisters Florence Poirier, Katherine Oleson, Dorthy Honnon; and her grandson Nathan Berry.

Memorial donations can be made in her honor to the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 14,2026 at 10:30 am at the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC. Per Madeline’s wish interment will be private in the Lary Cemetery in Gorham. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online guestbook at www.bryantfuneralhome.net
