Lionel R. Routhier

Lionel R. Routhier, 90, formerly of Spruce Street (formerly River ST) Gorham, died Saturday May 26, 2012 at Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin following a period of declining health.

Born on June 8, 1921 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Irenee and Flora (Nolette) Routhier.

He was raised in Berlin and was a 1941 graduate of Berlin High School.He then enlisted in the Army Aircorp and served during WWII. Lionel worked at Brown Company for nine years and then was employed at Gorham High School as a custodian for many years, retiring in 1984.

He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Gorham and was a member of the Royalty Club and the Gorham American Legion Post # 82.

He is pre-deceased by his wife Pauline J. Leclerc, two brothers Raymond and Robert Routhier, and a son in law Raymond Labbe.

He leaves two sons John Routhier and his wife Nancy of Bartlett, NH and Michael Routhier and his wife Peggy of Southbury, CT.

Two daughters: Louise Routhier-Labbe of Milan, NH and Susan Couture and her husband Ronald of Berlin.

Two brothers: Roland Routhier of Hillsboro, NH and Richard Routhier of Nashua, NH.

A brother in law Maurice Leclerc of Berlin

8 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11am Friday, June 1 at St Kieran Cemetery, Berlin, NH. There are no calling hours. Rev. Dean Stiles will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
