Obituary

Leona C. (Leclerc) St. Hilaire, 93, of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Her passing came on what would have been the 75th anniversary of her marriage to her late husband, Henry N. St. Hilaire. Born on March 22, 1933, she was the daughter of Edward and Mabel (Nolan) Leclerc and was a lifelong resident of Berlin. She graduated from Notre Dame High School with the Class of 1950. She married Henry N. St. Hilaire on July 23, 1951.Over the years, Leona worked at Granite State Rubber (Converse), Altima Delta, and Gamm. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church, now Good Shepherd Parish.

Leona enjoyed camping and reading and cherished spending time with her family, making sure everyone was always well fed. She looked forward to daily visits from Bella, her daughter’s dog, whose companionship brought her great joy. She took pride in caring for her home and yard, spending hours keeping her property neat and tidy.

Leona is survived by her son, Henry E. St. Hilaire and his wife, Noreen, of Beverly, Massachusetts; her daughter, Darlene Blais and her husband, Daniel, of Berlin; her son, Daniel St. Hilaire and his wife, Linda, of Brandon, Florida; and her daughter, Nicole Lescadre of Derry, New Hampshire. She also leaves her grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Melissa, Jonathan, Joshua, and Jennifer; her great-grandchildren, Emma, Charlotte, Boden, Zachary, Luke, Madeleine, Keegan, Maverick, Shepherd, and Jordynn; her sister-in-law and special friend, Gertrude St. Hilaire of Lebanon, New Hampshire; her sister-in-law, Nancy St. Hilaire of Nashua, New Hampshire; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry N. St. Hilaire; her brother, Raymond Leclerc, and his wife, Noella; her sister, Marion Tremblay, and her husband, Lucien; and her son-in-law, David Lescadre.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of Leona’s caregivers who lovingly cared for her in her home and at St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Their kindness, compassion, and dedication went above and beyond, and the care they provided brought comfort, dignity, and peace to Leona and her family during her final years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Activity Fund, or the Bring Shepherd Home GoFundMe page, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
