Mr. Leo A. Marcou, 69, of 777 Fourth Avenue, Berlin, NH passed away on Sunday September 11, 2005 at his home. He was born in Berlin on July 17, 1936 the son of William and Elizabeth (Hayes) Marcou. He was raised in Berlin and entered the US Navy in 1956 where he spent 20 years until his retirement in 1976. He had been employed by White Mountain Post #2520 VFW for nearly 30 years. He was a member of St. Kieran Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish, the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW, the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and very much enjoyed his camp in Dummer. Members of the family include his wife Jeannine (St. Onge) Marcou of Berlin, NH: 1 daughter Barbara Brouillette and her husband Dana of Gorham, NH; 1 son Jeff Marcou and his companion Cindy of Dummer, NH; 5 grandchildren Zachary, Jordan, Taylor, Brady and Paige; 3 brothers Pat Marcou of Cascade-Gorham, NH, Harold Marcou of Deep Creek, FL, and Daniel Marcou of Gorham, NH; 2 sisters Theresa Maddalena of Berlin, NH and Margaret Dalphonse of Cascade-Gorham, NH; many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday September 14, 2005 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Anyone who wishes may make donations in his memory to AVH Home Health and Hospice Services, 59 Page Hill Road, Berlin, NH, 03570 or to a charity of ones choice.
