Lenwood A. Knowles, 83, of Gorham, went to be with our Lord on July 19, 2026. He was the husband, soul mate, and “boyfriend” of 23 years to Beverly Knowles, and was born in Newburyport, MA on January 7, 1943, to the late Lenwood and Amanda (Eaton) Knowles. Lenwood was raised in the Seacoast area, graduated college in Keene, and had lived in various places throughout New Hampshire during his lifetime. An avid outdoorsman, he had enjoyed hunting in the north country, which led to him settling in the area nearly 40 years ago. Lenwood had been employed as a school teacher, and then worked many other jobs in the time afterward, lastly in maintenance for Walmart Distribution Center. In addition to his time spent in the woods, he enjoyed fishing, clamming, and hiking. He was an active member of the Riverside Assembly of God in Gorham.

Family includes his wife, Beverly (Goodhue) Knowles of Gorham; his children, Chuck Knowles of Newmarket, NH, Arthur Knowles of Keene, NH, Mark Boucher of Berlin, Brian Barnes and his wife Lori of Bangor, ME, and Ronald Barnes and his wife Donna of Saco, ME; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Donna Heywood of Seabrook, NH, and Dennis Knowles and his wife Yvonne of Milton, NH; and his nieces.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2PM at Riverside Assembly of God, 450 Main Street, Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Wildwood Cemetery, Seabrook, NH, at a later date.
