Lauriston "Larry" J. Bragg, Sr.

Magalloway Township, ME

Mr. Lauriston J. Bragg, Sr., 83, of Magalloway Township, ME, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 9, 2023.  Lauriston, fondly known as Larry, was born in Errol, NH. 

He is survived by children: Cynthia Daly and husband Thomas, LJ Bragg and wife Lucinda both of Shelburne, NH and step-children Lee West of Macon, GA, Nancy Turmenne of Alton, NH, Barbara Rudd and husband Roy of Great Cacapon, WV; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Larry is a veteran of the Vietnam War where he earned an award of Expert Rifle. His time in the service was spent in Greenland excavating ice tunnels. For high school, he attended Gould Academy. For College, he attended the University of Maine at Orono where he studied Civil Engineering. For many years, he worked as a logger for Brown Company, as well as James River Corp., just to name a few. His most recent position was working for the town’s transfer station. While running the transfer station, Larry enjoyed catching up with friends.

Larry took great pride in his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed snowmobiling, off-roading and many dinners out with them.  His most recent family outing was to Las Vegas where some of the family attended with a memorable helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon and an extravagant dinner with extended family.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Anne Bragg, parents Gordon and Catherine Bragg, and sibling Wendall Bragg.

The family will hold a small intimate gathering in Spring. Donations in his memory may be made to Magalloway Pink Church Preservation Society, 161 Sturtevant Pond Rd, Magalloway Township, 03579.
