Karen H. Dupont

Karen H. Dupont, 76, of Gorham NH and FT Myers Florida, passed away on Friday June 23, 2023 at the family residence in Gorham, she was surrounded by many close family and friends at the time of her passing, after a short battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She was born on March 14th,1947, the daughter of George and Pauline Lambertson. As a young woman Karen worked at Converse and Bass shoe and often told many stories about the great times she had with her co-workers. In her early 20’s she met the man of her dreams, William “Billy” Dupont. They married and shortly after they had a beautiful daughter named Stephanie and so the journey began……

Billy was working for the local Anheuser Busch Distributor and with that came many wonderful memories for Karen including outings with the “Bud Family” , trips to the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, Golf Tournaments, concerts, etc and the list goes on and on. Karen loved to travel and together, often with family and friends. They traveled all over the world. Her favorite destination of all was the Amalfi Coast in Italy. She has been on countless cruises and loved her mini getaways with her daughter, Stephanie. Later in life, they retired to FT Myers and lived a very active lifestyle at the Seven Lakes Golf Community. Karen was a club champion and an avid golfer in the summertime at home in Gorham at the AVCC where she made many lifelong friendships. She was an incredibly proud grandmother and cherished all the time she spent with her grandkids, these memories were some of her fondest.

Her relationship with daughter Stephanie was one of the most beautiful treasures in her life. They were best friends and enjoyed so many exciting adventures together, along with their husbands, Billy and Shawn. They shared a rare bond. One that was admired by many. They loved each other unconditionally and rarely did you see one without the other.

If you were a friend of Karen, chances are that friendship had gone on for many many years. She was known for having a great sense of humor and a zest for life and all its offerings. Her passions included cooking, especially with her son-in-law, Shawn. She loved to read her books on the back porch in Gorham, looking over the mountains and listening to the brook while her grand dog, CJ, sat at her feet. She attended many Broadway shows and enjoyed boating in the gulf of Florida with her closeknit friends. The family camp in West Milan was another one of her favorite places. She loved hanging out there with all the family and occasionally enjoying a cold beer or three….

Family includes her mother Pauline Lambertson of Gorham NH, daughter Stephanie Hanlon and husband Shawn of Gorham NH. Step Children, Mary Ellen Ellerbee and husband Rick of Columbus GA, James Dupont and wife Cheryle of Blue Ridge GA, Paul Dupont and wife Susan of Fortson GA, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, brother Gordon Lambertson and wife Joann, sister Kathy Thomas of Hollywood Florida, Sister-in-law Jean Baldassara and husband Dominic of Berlin NH and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband William L Dupont and her brother Michael Lambertson.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday June 28, 2023 at the Bryant Funeral Home on 1 Promenade Street, Gorham NH. Beginning with calling hours for family and friends from 2pm to 4pm and service at 4pm. Private interment will be at a later date. Online guestbook http://www.bryantfuneralhome.net/.
