Joann D. Lakin

Joann D. Lakin, 91, of Gorham, passed away on May 13, 2023 at the Mineral Springs Nursing Home in North Conway, NH. She was born on September 27, 1931, the daughter of the late George Sr. and Katherine (Fitzgerald) Daniels. Joann lived most of her life in Gorham and was a graduate of Gorham High School. Joann had been employed as a real estate broker with Hamel Realtors and NH Realtors Association. She also held a position in insurance sales, and most recently worked for Senior Meals. In her younger years, she also worked at Mt. Madison House, Philbrook Farm Inn, and at Mt. Crescent House in Randolph. Joann was extremely proud of her Irish heritage.

Family includes her great-grandchildren Roman Clapper, Cody Marshall, Carter Leclerc, Cailey Mae Leclerc, and Heaven Lee Sousa; her grandsons-in-law Andy Leclerc and Curt Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Gregory Lakin; granddaughter Jessica Leclerc; brothers George and Donald; a sister Marie; and sisters-in-law Virginia (Daniels) Ellis and Anita (Peters) Daniels.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11 AM at the Mt. Hayes Cemetery in Gorham. In accordance with Joann’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.bryantfuneralhome.net
