Jeannine A. Pelchat, 78, of Berlin, passed away on March 11, 2024 at the Coos County Nursing Home. She was born in Berlin on September 11, 1945, the daughter of Joseph and Miliora (Routhier) Pelchat, and was a lifelong resident. Prior to her retirement, Jeannine worked for many years as a homemaker for A.V. Homecare Services. She was a longtime member of St. Anne's Church. Jeannine had a strong faith and was honored to be chosen as Sacristan for the presiding priests before and after every 4pm Saturday Mass. She also became a very special friend to all the members of the Good Shepherd Parish Children's Choir.
Jeannine was an bird lover. She began her bird family with two birds which eventually reached a family of 16 birds. She loved her babies, they were her life. She also loved to color, paint, crochet, knit, go fishing and collected almost anything that had to do with pigs, collecting numerous pig novelties and displaying them all over her home.
Family includes her cousins Bob and Louise Pelchat of Berlin, Paul and Maddie Levesque of Berlin, Monique Dewyea of Colchester, VT; numerous second cousins including Lynn Gendron, to whom Jeannine was very close especially during her time at Coos County Nursing Home; and her beloved friend Patti Berube of Gorham. She was predeceased by her aunts Anita Pelchat and Irene Levesque, and another beloved friend Anita Lavigne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 1pm at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish with interment following in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 11am to 12:30pm at Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, prior to the mass. Those who wish may make donations in Jeannine's memory to A.V.
