Jeannette Thibodeau

Jeannette Thibodeau, 99, of Gorham, NH, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, May 8, 2014.

She was born to the late Pacifique and Marie (Dube) Laperle in Pittsburg, NH on July 2, 1914.

Jeannette married Edward Thibodeau in November of 1933 in Berlin, NH and together they had three children. She is also the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 20 Great- Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great -Grandchildren. Jeanette and Edward also housed and cared for more than three dozen foster children providing either a temporary or more permanent home when no such home was available to them.

She was devoted to her faith and was a longtime member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin, NH and more recently a member of Holy Family Parish in Gorham, NH.

Family and friends were Jeannette's love and joy. She and her family often entertained visits from their large family in New Hampshire, Maine, and Canada. In addition to hosting their family gatherings she also enjoyed traveling to see them in their homes. In her later years she was assisted by the North Country Angels who provided care which allowed her to stay in the home she enjoyed so much.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Edward G. Thibodeau in 1983, her daughter Priscilla Thibodeau Flynn in 1992, her son Donald Thibodeau in 1981 and her foster daughter Emolleen Hart of Groveton, NH in 2010.

Jeannette is survived by one Son Raymond O. Thibodeau and his wife Minnie of Mansfield TX as well as two foster children Sharon Findsen of Stark and Edward Leclerc of Bow and a Daughter-In-Law Gloria O. Maxfield of Ocala Florida.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her over the last several months with a special thanks to the North Country Angels (Denise, Kayla, Jen, Arlene, and Michaela).

Jeannette was a woman of great faith, an independent spirit and a great love of family.

Arrangements are being provided by Fleury-Patry Funeral Home 72, High St, Berlin, NH with calling hours on Tuesday, May 13th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Holy Family Church in Gorham, NH. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Milan, NH.
