She had been a resident of Riverwoods Manchester since 2020. Irene was born in Berlin on February 27, 1930, the daughter of Aime and Fleurendy (Blais) Labonte. She graduated from Berlin High School in June 1948. On May 1, 1954, she married the love of her life, Carl D. Oleson, and together they shared a full and devoted life for 56 years. She and Carl built their home on Sweden Street together, taking great pride in their flowers and vegetable gardens. In her free time, Irene also enjoyed knitting and needlepoint. In Carl’s later years, as his health declined, she devoted herself to caring for him at home.
