Glenna Maxine (Gould) Stiles, 95, of Milan, passed away peacefully in her son’s home on Thursday, March 5, 2020 following a lengthy period of failing health. She was born in Danforth, Maine on January 16, 1925 the daughter of the late Byron Archie and Myrtle Frances (Harris) Gould and resided in Milan most of her life. She enjoyed her home, trips to Lewiston and Auburn to go shopping, and simple home cooked meals. Above all, she loved her family. Glenna was a member of the First Baptist Church in Berlin.
Members of her family include her daughter Sherry Merrow and husband John of Jefferson; her son Rev. Dean Stiles and wife Emilie of Berlin; 6 grandchildren Kelly and fiancé Mike, Dawn and husband Jeff, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Eliza, and Samuel; 2 great grandchildren Brianna and Sage; a sister-in-law Carol Gould of Danforth, ME; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Alger Stiles in 2005; her two brothers Byron Gould and Wilfred Gould; her 5 sisters Alta Campbell, Barbara Bickford, Christina Dwyer, Waldina Gould, and Elizabeth Boardman.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10am at the First Baptist Church, High Street, Berlin. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, on Friday March 13 from 4-7pm. Interment will take place privately in the spring in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Milan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenna’s memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 79 High Street, Berlin, NH 03570 or to the North Country Home Health and Hospice Agency, 536 Cottage Street, Littleton, NH 03561.
