Gary A. Dale, 61, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026. He was born in Berlin, NH to Rita (Lapointe) and George Dale, joining older sisters Judy, Vickie, and Lori. His father lost his life in combat during the Vietnam War when Gary was 2. At the age of 7, his mother later remarried Lionel “Lee” Collins.
Gary lived a simple life. He was a talented carpenter and possessed a quick wit and boisterous laugh. He was as stubborn as he was loving and generous. Without a doubt he was a fun uncle to his nieces and nephews, being the one to rough house and clean plates left unfinished at holiday meals.
Despite a life of laughs and love, his life was brought the most meaning when he, and his then-wife, Karyn (Dexter), were blessed with their (oldest/firstborn) daughter, Jessica, his “Pooh Bear”. Although life served its share of hardships to Gary, he always found joy in time spent with family. He moved to Milan, living above his oldest sister, Judy and her husband, Roland Jr., in 2019. Being part of the family “compound” gave him incredible time with his family which now expanded to a “grand” generation of his niece, bonus nieces and nephew, and most notably his grandchildren, his heart and soul, Luis, Larissa, and Lucas. While visiting, the word “no” didn't exist, and the candy supply was never ending.
After his sister Vickie passed away, he inherited her cat, Baby Snowflake, which he renamed with his own witty term of endearment. She provided him great entertainment and companionship, which he reciprocated by endless treats and pets.
Gary will be immensely missed by his daughter, Jessica and her partner Neko, and grandchildren Luis, Larissa, Lucas, and Carleigh; his sister and long-term caregiver Judy and her husband Roland; sister Lori and husband William; nephews and nieces Jake and his partner Heather, “bonus” nieces Ailynn & Sydney, and “bonus” nephew Brennan; Tiffani and grandniece “Joccy Bear”, and Alexis. He is also survived by his daughter, Krista, and her son, Carter; niece Samantha, and nephew Billy. Prior to his passing, he lost his parents and sister, Vickie.
The family will hold a private gathering at a date to be determined. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bryant Funeral Home of Berlin.
