Florence (Gallant) Shorty

Florence (Gallant) Shorty, 92, of Berlin, NH, passed away on Sunday June 4, 2023 at the Coos County Nursing Home. She was born in Berlin, NH on February 1, 1931 the daughter of Edward and Eva (Bergeron) Hamel and was a lifelong resident. She attended Guardian Angel School and St. Patrick School. Florence was the co-owner of Wilfred’s Gulf and was a member of Good Shepherd Parish and the VFW Post #2520 Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed her home in Florida for many years and liked Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Florence loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family includes her husband Donald Shorty of Berlin, NH; sons Steven Gallant and longtime partner Laurie Gagne of Gorham, NH and Nelson Gallant of Shelburne, NH; grandchildren Melissa Eames and husband Samuel, Kimberly Redden and husband Shawn, Nicole Burrows and husband Connor, Tyler Pepin, Bryce Pepin, Sarah Gallant and Joshua Gallant and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Wilfred J. Gallant, her son Donald Gallant, her daughter Mona Pepin, her brother Wilfred Hamel and her sister Therese Guerin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday June 13, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow in St. Anne Cemetery.
