Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Phillippe and Maria (Parent) Parenteau. A lifelong resident of Rhode Island, she was married to Louis Auclair for 36 years.

As a teenager Florence worked at several local worsted manufacturing mills, Sydney Blumenthal, Coats and Clark, and Branch River Wool but it was as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at St. Antoine, N. Florence was devoted to the church and its mission to feed, clothe and provide shelter to those less fortunate. As a parishioner of St Joseph’s Church she served as the President of the Ladies Guild assisting with family, social and community needs and then at All Saints Church where she volunteered for the Feed My Sheep Kitchen for many years.

Florence was equally devoted to her family. She was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Auclair is survived by two daughters, Jeannette (Gene) Joyal of N. Carolina and Judy Hubbs of Rhode Island, and daughter in law Celina (Charland) Auclair, of S. Carolina. Grandchildren, Chris (Amanda) Joyal, Matt (Misty) Joyal, Candace Lett (BJ Estes), Marie Auclair and Lauren Lapierre and great grandchildren Christopher, Timberely, Alexis, Matthew, Riley and Cohen.
