Eric W. Gale

Eric W. Gale, 64, of Berlin, passed away on June 20, 2023 at his home. He was born in Paris, Illinois on March 27, 1959, the son of the late Alonzo and Alice (Taylor) Gale. Eric was a member of the US Army Special Forces, and first came to Berlin while looking for work following his discharge. He met his wife Paulette and has resided in Berlin since. Eric was most recently employed by Car Freshener for a period of over 20 years. In earlier years, he had also worked for the Maurice Page contracting company.

Eric was an avid racecar fan, following the NASCAR, Formula One, and Indy circuits. He had an interest in cars, and an excellent cook. He enjoyed time spent with his family at any opportunity. Eric was a member of the VFW Post 2520 and the American Special Forces Association.

Family includes his wife of 37 years, Paulette Gale, of Berlin; daughters Jessica Gale and partner Cody Walton of Torrington, CT, and Erica Gale and partner David Zall of Portland, ME; siblings Debra Chalai and husband Luigi of Jacksonville, FL, Scott Gale and his partner of Paris, IL. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Jeffrey Gale and his sister Pam Morris.

A Memorial Service will be held privately, with burial at sea being conducted by the US Military. Those who wish may make donations in Eric’s memory to a charity of their choice.
