Eileen D. Rooney, 98, of Berlin, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Eileen was born in Berlin on March 4, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Augustine and Diane (Landry) Rooney, and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in 1946. She worked for New England Telephone & Telegraph Company as a switchboard operator and as an office employee for many years. Eileen retired from Public Service Company of New Hampshire in 1990.

She was an active member of Good Shepard Parish and of our community. Eileen was an integral member of the Friends of Catholic Schools, taught CCD, and volunteered her time to the church throughout her life. In the greater community, Eileen was an avid supporter of the Berlin Maroons, a member of the Snowshoe Club, and enjoyed supporting her grandnieces and nephews in their athletic pursuits. Eileen was an avid card player, especially cribbage and pitch. She enjoyed the friendly competition, camaraderie, and snacks with family and friends. Faith, family, friends, and food brought her joy throughout her life.

Eileen is survived by her sister Phyllis Morrissette of Berlin; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers James, Michael, and Coakley, and her sister, Sr. Anne Marie Rooney, PM.
