Doris Nicoletti, 97, of Berlin, NH, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital with family at her side.

Born in Berlin on September 26, 1928, she was the daughter of Alphonse and Fleurette (LaFleur) Paradis. Doris graduated from Gorham High School in 1946. In 1947 she married Bernard (Ben) Nicoletti. They were fortunate to celebrate 70 years of marriage before Ben passed away in 2018. They raised two boys, Robert and Richard, and also had three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Doris deeply loved her family and especially cherished family get togethers. She also loved gardening and had an affinity for flowers.

Doris spent the early years of her marriage as a stay-at-home mom, caring for her boys and maintaining the household. She was an excellent cook and had a knack for baking. Holiday meals came with multiple treats, always made from scratch. It was never a surprise to see an assortment of eclairs, whoopie pies, fudge, banana cream, chocolate cream or custard pies for dessert.

In 1964 Doris joined the workforce and was employed at Savemore Department Store and Globe Discount where she managed the men’s clothing department until she retired in 1993. After her retirement she and her husband enjoyed camping at nearby campgrounds where they made many lifelong friends. Doris particularly enjoyed a trip via mobile home with Ben and her sister, Barbara, and brother-in-law, Ron, traveling from coast to coast, stopping at many scenic and recreational sites. For Doris, the highlight of the trip was attending the Rose Bowl Parade.

Doris is survived by her sons, Robert and his wife Chris and Richard and his wife Helen, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Doris was predeceased by her parents, her in-laws, Antonio and Maria, brothers and sisters-in-law Richard (Teresa) and Robert (Barbara), sister and brother-in-law Barbara (Ron) Cavagnaro.

Doris will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and generosity. She was loved by many and returned love in kind. She truly was a special woman.
