Doris H. Alimandi, 96, of Berlin passed away peacefully at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital following a brief illness on Wednesday October 11, 2023. She was born on November 10, 1926 the daughter of the late George and Mary Jane (Doyl) Filteau and was a lifelong resident. Doris devoted her life to caring for her family. Once her children were grown, she accepted a position in the fabric department of Rich's to complement her passion for sewing. Following the closing of Rich's, she obtained a position as an aide in the activities department at Coos County Nursing Home, a career she truly enjoyed.
Her many pastimes throughout her life included ice skating and skiing, ballroom dancing, sewing and quilting, knitting, and caring for her numerous pets. While she enjoyed these hobbies, her true passion was caring for her family; she was never happier than when she had a baby in her arms.
Family includes her children Stephen Alimandi, Vicki Neville, Judi Connolly, Heidi Gray, Bonni (Jesse) Tennis, and Terri Hayes; 7 grandchildren Mari Jo (Neville) Clark, Tim Neville, Audrey Connolly, Jimmy Gray, David Gray, Emily (Tennis) Tsoules, and Kathryn Hayes; 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Stephen Alimandi as well as her 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Anne Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Tuesday October 17, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 pm.
