Denis Desgroseilliers, 70, of Berlin, New Hampshire, passed away on March 31, 2026.
Born on October 26, 1955, in Berlin, Denis was the beloved son of the late Roger Desgroseilliers and Theresa Roy.
He remained deeply connected to his hometown throughout his life, building a life centered around family, hard work, and the simple joys that meant the most to him.
Denis spent his life doing what he loved as a chef, dedicating himself to the kitchen where he expressed his creativity and care for others through food. Outside of work, he was a man of many talents. He found peace in painting and took great pride in his carpentry, always working with his hands and creating something meaningful. In his younger years, Denis cherished time spent outdoors, especially hunting and fishing—activities that brought him both joy and a sense of freedom.
He also had a deep love for music and was a natural on the drums, a talent that brought him happiness and was admired by those who knew him. Whether keeping rhythm or simply enjoying his favorite songs, music was another way Denis expressed himself and connected with others.
Denis had a huge heart and was always there when his friends called, never hesitating to lend a hand or offer support. He took great pride in being someone others could count on, and that loyalty and kindness defined who he was.
Above all, Denis loved his family. He is survived by his children: Bryan Desgroseilliers of Colorado, Cory Long of Maine and Lana Stiansy and her husband Ricky of Berlin; 5 grandchildren; Nevaeh wheeler, Bentley Desgroseilliers, Cayden Veilleux, Camden Freeland, and Tatianna Freeland. A brother Paul Desgroseilliers and wife Diane of Manchester, NH; two sisters Marcelle Mercier and husband Leo of Berlin and Louise Demers and husband Paul of Manchester; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Leo Desgroseilliers.
Denis will be remembered for his quiet strength, his creativity, and the love he carried for those closest to him. Whether through a meal he prepared, something he built, or time spent together, he left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
There will be no formal services. Denis’s children will be holding a celebration of life at a later date to honor and remember him in a way that reflects the warmth and love he shared with others.
