David F. (Dave) Osgood, of Berlin, NH passed away on January 14th, 2026 at his home with loved ones at his side, peacefully bringing his brave battle with dementia to an end. The son of Francis and Lillian (Hart) Osgood, Dave was born on June 19th, 1958 in Rumford, Maine, and the family moved to Berlin the next year.
Dave was a graduate of Berlin High School, Class of 1976. He married the love of his life, Lise (Guerin) Osgood, and they shared 46 years of love and commitment for each other. Together, they raised their two sons, whom he was immeasurably proud of, a pride that only grew as they became adults. He taught his sons his hobbies and demonstrated a strong work ethic; those lessons will forever live on through them. The families his sons created— including their wives, his grandchildren, and granddogs—were his greatest joy and meant the world to him.
He loved to spend time outside and enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, bowling, woodworking, and ATV riding. Dave also loved the peaceful simplicity of driving and taking walks with his wife through the beautiful scenery of the area. He was a longtime member of the White Mountain Lumber bowling team. Dave was an active member of the Androscoggin Valley ATV Club for many years. He was passionate about improving the trail system for the enjoyment of all who visited, and was a proud founding member of the annual Jericho ATV Festival. He loved spending time doing these activities with his sons and his closest friend, Kirk Roy. He was especially fond of taking his boat out on Lake Umbagog with his family and friends, and bird hunting with his sons and his granddog Abby, who was a beloved member of the family. Dave was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish, and particularly enjoyed singing the hymns in recent years. Throughout his journey with dementia, he continued many of these activities for as long as he could, bringing him continued enjoyment and sense of comfort.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, baby sister Darlene, and granddog Abby who brought him so much joy. He is survived by his wife Lise; his son Jason Osgood and his wife Michelle; son Cory Osgood and his wife Jordan; two grandchildren Haley and Anthony Osgood; two granddogs Maggie and Penny; sister Debbie Page; and many other family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as many friends.
