Darrell G. Bernier

Darrell G. Bernier, 76, of Gorham, passed away on Sunday August 21, 2016 at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin after a long battle with Alzheimers. Darrell was born on March 26, 1940 in Gorham, NH the son of the late Joseph Albert and Cecilia Marie (Gilbert) Bernier. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Darrell graduated from Gorham High School. He owned and operated The Vac Shop for over 50 years and The Pizza Shop. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Gorham, the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree and was an avid golfer. Family members include his wife Patricia (Sterling) Bernier of Gorham, NH; three children; Jacqueline Pearson and husband Charles of Randolph, NH; Timothy Bernier and wife Alison of Gorham, NH and Brandon Bernier and wife Kari of Dyersburg, TN; grandchildren; Nathaniel and Emily of TN; Abbie and Emma of Gorham, NH; a sister Mary Campbell and husband Fred of VA; a brother Richard Bernier and wife Pearl of SC; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Caitlin Bernier. SERVICE: A funeral service will be held on Thursday August 25, 2016 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Coos County Nursing Home, Activities Dept., 364 Cates Hill Rd., Berlin, NH.
