Christopher John Schiavoni, 52, from Berlin, NH passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2023. He was born on May 10, 1970 in Portsmouth, VA, to Maureen A. McGrath and Gerald A. Schiavoni.
He lived most of his childhood in Parsonsfield, Maine where he spent much of his time helping his parents on the family farm. He had his own rabbits, Bugs and Lady that he cared for, as well as helping with the chickens, pigs, cows and weeding the garden. He had lots of fun creating “jumps” in the back yard for his dirt bike, which was the prelude for his lifetime love that
he shared with his dad, and that was motorcycles, mostly Harleys.
Every birthday, as part of his celebration, he made the annual pilgrimage to take a “dip” in Long Pond in Parsonsfield. Most times he wouldn’t get further than his knees, but there were a few birthdays that he actually dove in. There was something about his luck on that day, that he usually found a turtle to bring home to live in his room. This was to the dismay of his
mother and sisters, who on more than one occasion, came face to face to the open mouth of a snapping turtle!
Chris went to Portland High School and spent part of his career working for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in charge of the clean room that produced medication for hemophiliacs. He later moved to northern New Hampshire to help his dad build his house in Pike, NH and chose to stay.
He is survived by his son, Monty Schiavoni of Manchester NH, his daughter Keira Klos-Schiavoni of Littleton, NH, his mother, Maureen McGrath of Windham, ME, his sister, Holly Schiavoni of Portland, ME, brothers Gerald Schiavoni, Jr. of Haverhill, MA, Andrew Schiavoni of Newburyport, MA, step brother Kris Hein of Manchester, NH, grandmother Joanne McGrath of
Hobe Sound, FL, and niece Deja Litchfield of Statesville, NC, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Gerald A. Schiavoni of Pike, NH, and his sister Jasmyn L. Schiavoni of Saco, ME, and brother-in-law Matthew Litchfield.
A private ceremony will take place at a later date.
