Christine M. Martin, 52, of Berlin passed away Sunday February 1, 2015 after a four year battle with cancer. She was born in Millinocket, ME on January 18, 1963 the daughter of Randolph E. and Marie (Powell) Moores and has resided in Berlin since age 3. She graduated from Berlin High, attended Bryant College in RI, the University of Maine in Orono, ME and Plymouth State College in Plymouth, NH, where she earned her degree in accounting. Christine had been employed as an accountant at various firms in Berlin and was lastly employed by Currier Trucking for 9 years. She attended the First Baptist Church and enjoyed doing renovations on her home. She was very proud of her children, Tyler and Cassie, and spent uncountable hours transporting them around the state to and from various hockey and softball games and tournaments. Chris was a member of the Androscoggin Valley Country Club, was an accomplished golfer and held the ladies champion title for many years and made many friends. Despite her illness, Chris was always positive and never complained. Her close companion, Dan Brigham, provided her with constant care and attention in her last months and for that, the family is very grateful and appreciative. Family includes her son Tyler Martin of Berlin, NH; her daughter Cassie Martin of Berlin, NH; her parents Randolph and Marie (Powell) Moores of Portland, ME; her companion Dan Brigham of Berlin, NH; siblings Steve Moores and wife Gina of Hornell, NY and Larry Moores and wife Cathi of Standish, ME; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Bob and sister-in-law Chris Moores of Berlin. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 7, 2015 at 9 AM at the First Baptist Church, High Street in Berlin. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave, Berlin on Friday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Donations in Christines memory may be made to the Weeks Memorial Hospital, Oncology Dept, 173 Middle St., Lancaster, NH, 03584.The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
