Burton E. Meyers, 90, of Shelburne, passed away on Friday November 29, 2019 at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born in Nashua, NH on February 5, 1929 the son of Conrad A. and Mary Anna (Ouellette) Meyers and was raised there. He entered the US Navy in 1948 and served in the Korean War. He married Priscilla “Tillie” Hayes on December 22, 1951, while he was home on Christmas leave, and upon his discharge, he moved to Shelburne where he has since resided. Burt had been employed at Brown Company, Currier Trucking as well as other Gorham area businesses. His final employment had been as a Walmart greeter for 10 years. He was a Golden Sheaf member of the Winthrop Grange, a member of the Northern NH Pamona Grange and the National Grange. He had served on the Shelburne Fire Department for over 30 years and was member of the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion for over 63 years.
Family includes his daughter Elaine Wood and husband Guy E. of Shelburne, NH; grandchildren Heather Wood and husband Corey Dumas of Shelburne, NH and Guy Wood and his wife Briana of Shelburne, NH; great grandchildren Shianna Wood, Jaya Dumas, Guy Wood, Jr. and Griffin Wood; a brother Carlton Meyers and his wife Barbara of South Portland, ME; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Priscilla “Tillie” Meyers on June 4, 2015.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 10:30am at the Wheeler Cemetery in Shelburne.
