Berlin, NH

Betty F. Fissette, 89, of Berlin, passed away on January 5, 2024 at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Berlin.  She was born in Whitefield, NH on June 19, 1934 the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Kay) Elliott. Just days after graduating from Whitefield High School and on her birthday, she married the love of her life, Donald.

Betty’s life after marriage revolved around her family and the home that Don helped build for them. She was a meticulous housekeeper and took great pride in that. Betty loved Christmas. The tree decorations always included snow made out of ivory soap flakes and water. Underneath the tree were little lit up houses, a mirror skating rink complete with skaters and more “snow” and a complete manger.

After years of being a homemaker she decided she wanted to go to work. She worked as an LNA for many years at St Louis Hospital and then at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home where she was known as being very compassionate with the residents. Betty was very outgoing and said exactly what she thought. She enjoyed riding on the back of Don’s motorcycle for many years and was a member of The White Mountain Riders.

Members of the family include a daughter Debra Ann Michaud and husband Tad of Portsmouth, NH; a son, Timothy Paul Fissette and wife Kathy of Westminster MA; 3 grandchildren; Kelly Mee and husband Jeff of Portsmouth NH, Kami Valeriani and husband Richie of Manchester NH and Zachary Fissette and wife Lorelei of Baldwinville MA; 6 great-grandchildren; Raegan and Adam Devoid, Cooper Mee, Annabelle, Donald and Helen Fissette; 1 great-great-grandchild; Gage Olszewski; brother James, brother-in-law Mervin, sister-in-law Julie, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
