Anita Labonte Filteau, 91, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center in Berlin where she had been a resident for more than 3 years. She was born on October 11, 1921, in Berlin, the daughter of Aime and Florida (Blais) Labonte. A graduate of St. Regis Academy and Berlin High School, class of 1940, she was a lifelong resident of Berlin and member of Saint Anne, now Good Shepherd Parish. She had been employed by New England Telephone as an operator, and had worked at Granite State Rubber Company in the box department. She married Albert H. Filteau on November 25, 1944. She is survived by one daughter Louise and husband Gregorio Estrella of Berlin, two granddaughters, Patricia and her husband Michael Johnson of New Zealand, and Victoria Sands of Tennessee, step-grandchildren, Andrew Estrella and wife Kathy of Berlin, Michael Estrella and wife Sheri of New Jersey, Melissa and husband Stephen Mercer of Connecticut and Melanie Estrella of Washington, great grand children, Ethan, Emily and Elise Carr, Benjamin, Evan and Leah Estrella, Kai and Luke Mercer. Brothers, Bertrand Labonte and Romeo and wife Doris Labonte of Berlin, sisters Irene Oleson of Berlin, Gisele Sheridan of North Carolina, sister in-law, Beatrice Labonte of Berlin, brother in-law, Donald Langevin of Berlin, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Albert H. Filteau on Dec. 1, 1992, her parents, brothers Joseph and Maurice Labonte and sisters Beatrice Arsenault and Rhea Langevin. At her request there will be no calling hours. Private family service will take place. Donations may be made in her memory to the Androscoggin Valley Cancer Fund, PO Box 237, Gorham, NH 03581, St. Vincent de Paul Activities Dept., 29 Providence Ave., Berlin, NH or to a charity of ones choice.
