Alfreda Edith Lacasse of Berlin NH died peacefully in her home on February 13, 2026 at 101 years of age. She was born in Madawaska, ME on Christmas day, 1924 to George and Lucie (Dufour) Pelletier. After graduating from Madawaska High School and while working in Lewiston, ME, Freda met WW2 Marine veteran Lucien Lacasse. They fell in love, married in 1950, and a few years later moved back to Lucien’s hometown of Berlin, NH where they raised their five children. Freda was crafty and resourceful and expressed this by sewing, cross stitching, and painting by numbers. Freda also enjoyed stamp collecting, caring for her flowers and rose bushes, and shopping with her daughters. She had a wonderful collection of clowns and turtles. Her most joyful smiles were saved for her children, grandkids and great grandkids.
After Lou retired, they became world travelers visiting Germany, Medjugorje, and France. They also travelled in the US to visit family in Arizona, California, and Colorado.
She is survived by her daughter Rachel Glynn of Berlin NH who lived with her and lovingly cared for her for the past 10 years; Marc (& Cheri) Lacasse of Tucson, AZ; Val (& Rob) Robison of Morse, LA; Don (& Jackie) Lacasse of Gorham, NH; Lucy (& Dan) Goupil of Dummer, NH. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Will (& Megan) Lacasse of Tucson, AZ; Catey (& Jacob) Bitinas of Marietta, GA; Sara Robison of Morse, LA; David (& Ashley) of Colorado Springs, CO; Robin (& Cason) Harp of Minot, ND; TSGT Sam Lacasse of Yokota AFB, Japan; Rachel Lacasse of Colorado Springs, CO; Bethany Hartzell of Berlin, NH; Michaela (& Adam) De Lange of Wagener, SC; Jeffrey (& Mariah) Couch of Berlin, NH; And great grandchildren Arthur Bitinas; Blake and Peter Lacasse; Lexi Harp; Aiyana Hartzell; Jonathan, Chloe, Lillian, Felicity, Arabelle, and Josephine De Lange; Mikey Rolfe, and Lucien Couch. Freda was predeceased by Lucien, her husband of 56 years; her son-in-law Michael Glynn; her parents and her 9 siblings, three of whom died as infants/children.
Per her request there will be no visiting hours. Interment will be at St. Kieran Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held this summer. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Online guestbook at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
