Wilfred Aldee Dignard, age 91, passed away on the 16th of October, 2009 after a brief illness. Born July 30th, 1918 and a lifelong resident of Berlin, NH, Wilfred was a member of St. Annes Parish, now Good Shepherd Parish. He was the son of Alexandre Dignard and Antoinette (Nolin) Dignard. Wilfred worked in the position of High Pressure Pipe Fitter for the Brown Company, and later the James River Company. He retired in 1980 after 46 years of service in the paper industry. Wilfred loved spending time with his family and enjoyed working around his property and home. He was a creative spirit and inventor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time in the outdoors. He was a good and kindhearted father, husband, son and uncle. He will be sorely missed, but will always be remembered with great fondness for the good spirited and giving soul that he was. Wilfred was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Armand Dignard and Roger Dignard and one sister, Florette (Dignard) Sylvain. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Pauline (Gagne) Dignard; one son Roger Dignard of New Boston, NH; two daughters Therese Dignard and Claire Dignard, both of Berlin, NH; four grandchildren Philip Dignard, Anne Dignard and Lorraine Dignard all of Goffstown, NH, and Marion (Dignard) Friend-Grey and her husband Own Friend-Grey of Nottingham, NH. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, as well as numerous cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday October 21, 2009 at 11 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 AM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH, 03756. Please earmark donations for the Community Outreach Program at the Weeks Hospital in Lancaster, NH.
